Get this man a child
Said the caption
And there were loads of volunteers
Women who would gladly carry his baby
Nurturing it to adulthood while
Happily accepting the perk of regular apocalyptic sex
But that was not his dream
Yes the lure of unending spellbinding sex held sway over him
Women offering themselves
Provocative fangirls
Some lovely and some not
Lusting shamelessly
He had his pick
But though he partook again and again
He wished to create his future progeny only out of love
He found children uncomplicated
And often at large gatherings
Whenever possible
He'd take refuge among the youngsters
A socially acceptable practice
The just-past-young young man
The handsome single male
Taking on the responsibility of watching the pups
Releasing their weary parents
Freeing them momentarily
Over their shoulders they'd glance gratitude and relief
Trotting quickly away into adulthood
He immersed himself
Drowning in a world of imagination and play
Gently lowering his mind into childhood
Relaxing into the chatter of youth
Catching hold of the nursery's rhythm
Fitting in as a large friendly object
A sheriff with his posse
An Indian chief with his war party
Robin Hood and his band of merry men
Away from the fussbudgets and gossips
Saved from trivial adult banter
From exposure
Of his self effacing worthlessness
That in spite of dozens of accomplishments
Fell meaningless and insignificant
Never enough to fill the empty dark hole of guilt and shame
So he hid among the children
His safe haven of small tolerant humans
When he'd emerge
Having garnered a bit of courage
He'd don his public persona
Walk quickly and politely about the crowd
Approach a lovely willing volunteer
Anticipating hours of splendid sex
Then with utter decorum and a great swish
Leave
