'Tis my turn to embark
My journey begins
Through genomes
And chromosomes
All in a drop of spit
You sir find yourself related to kings
A twenty-third cousin
Removed by 500 years
I find myself alone
Cut off from those biological bonds
The ones reaching back into my past
The ones from which I burst forth those many years ago
Unknown souls from whom I share my blue eyes
My blond hair
My tiny breasts
All in a drop of spit
Perchance we share blood
'Tis unlikely yet possible
So far removed from each other
The chance of it looms nil
But nonetheless relations I do have
Somewhere in this land
Hidden heretofore
Perhaps now revealed
All in a drop of spit
Mixed with a fine blue solution
My DNA dances
Throws up its arms
Welcomes the notion of family
